# Prepare custom domains

`management_groups.prepare_domains`

Prepare the requested team and client web addresses; this does not activate them or configure email. For standard addresses, supply base_domain only to use portal.<base_domain> and apply.<base_domain>. Set provider_host or client_host for explicitly requested alternatives; use mode replacement for active hosts. When branded email is requested, configure it with update_branding changes.sender_domain, sender_display_name, sender_local_part, and reply_to_email. Read get_branding again and present every returned record from domains[].dns_records and email_sender.dns_records using its copy/import guidance. After DNS is added, continue the authorized setup through activation and return the branded-portal link.
