# Configure Lead source client settings

`source_channels.configure_settings`

Choose starting_experience for new businesses from this source. Legacy Boolean fields remain accepted. For signup links choose only one experience: intake, self-service, direct or all off. Read get_settings first and send only requested changes with its revision. Existing work and access grants remain unchanged. Existing client matchmaking access is managed on the business relationship. Management can prevent new self-service/direct enabling without revoking sources already using them. Marketplace and partner referral client settings cannot be changed. API sources support profile-only, intake, self-service matchmaking and deal application starts. The selected experience determines the API submission contract; read its current instructions after changes. Unchanged legacy options and unrelated edits are preserved. Does not send invitations or provision credentials; an authorized human activates the key in API setup.
